you're on jomyoji, one of kamakura's quieter residential stretches, far enough from the main hase and komachi crowds that the foot traffic genuinely thins out. the temples are close, the city noise isn't. alpha betti cafe sits at the ground floor of a building on 5-chome, and if you're coming from the enoshima dentetsu side you'll walk past actual neighbourhood life to get there: small gardens, side streets, the particular unhurried pace that central kamakura rarely holds onto past mid-morning. locally, the cafe is well regarded, and that reputation has been built without any particular fanfare. it's the kind of place you return to on a second visit to kamakura, not a first, because you already know it'll be there. start with whatever's on the filter menu that day.
