you're on yandell drive, which cuts through one of el paso's older residential corridors, close enough to the university of texas campus that the neighborhood has that particular mix of long-term locals and people who are still figuring out where they're going. amo the pink cafe sits at 412, and if you've spent any time in el paso you know that independent spots in this part of town tend to earn their footing the hard way. the reception here has been genuinely strong, the kind that doesn't come from novelty alone. specialty coffee is the focus, taken seriously without being made into a performance. come for the morning, when yandell is still quiet and the light is doing what west texas light does, and get the coffee while it's fresh.
