a slow morning in nerviano moves at its own pace, and piazza italia is the kind of square that makes you want to sit longer than you planned. bar la caffetteria has built something real here, the sort of place locals come back to consistently enough that its standing in the town is hard to miss. it's not performing specialty coffee, it's just doing it, day after day, in a mid-sized lombard town that doesn't need to prove anything to milan. you get the sense that regulars aren't here out of habit alone. the piazza setting helps, open and unhurried, but the coffee is the reason people return on a tuesday morning when nowhere else would do.
