blank space cafe knows how to leave well enough alone. that restraint, the kind that's harder to pull off than it looks, shows up in the coffee. second avenue in belltown puts you right in the middle of one of seattle's more restless stretches, but the cafe sits outside that noise in the way that actually matters. you're not walking in for theater. the specialty focus means the sourcing and the process get real attention, not just the branding around them. independent spots in this city have a lot to prove, and most of them prove it loudly. this one doesn't seem interested in that. if you're in the neighborhood on a weekday morning, the espresso is the thing to start with.
