cafe 3440 sits at the top of the Pitztal Glacier in Austria, inside the cable-car terminal at 3,440 metres above sea level. the building was put there to move people up a mountain, not to serve coffee, and that original purpose is still obvious everywhere you look. the views are what you would expect at that altitude: ice, rock, and very little else.
