café du clown takes its coffee seriously. that's the whole thing, and on rue lobineau it turns out to be enough. the 6th arrondissement is a neighborhood that already has opinions about itself, full of wine bars and bookshops and places that have been there longer than you've been alive, so a café here has to hold its ground. this one does. you won't find the usual tourist-facing looseness in how the drinks are handled. the standing it has built locally isn't borrowed from the address, it comes from consistency. come for the espresso on a weekday morning, when the street is quiet and the 6th is still mostly its own.
