cafe frauenhuber is vienna's oldest surviving coffeehouse, operating continuously since 1788. that makes it not just a place to drink coffee but a room that has been serving it through the end of the habsburg empire, two world wars, and everything since. the interior reflects that age, and mozart and beethoven both performed here when it was still a concert hall.
