out on koroistentie 2, far enough from turku's centre that you actually have to mean it when you go, café koroinen has built a reputation that holds. this isn't a place propped up by foot traffic or tourist luck. the locals who end up out here tend to come back, and that pattern doesn't sustain itself without something worth returning to. specialty coffee in finland already has a serious culture behind it, nordic roasting sensibility, clean water, an audience that knows what it's tasting, and a spot like this fits that context without needing to announce it. if you're making the trip out to koroistentie, factor in time to sit. a long black in the afternoon, no rush.
