cafe nicoles does one thing better than most: it keeps things honest. morley isn't a neighbourhood that gets much column space in specialty coffee conversations, but annie street has a reason to come up more often. you don't need to be a coffee obsessive to appreciate what's here, though it helps to know that "well regarded locally" in a town like this means something harder to fake than a good fit-out. the regulars aren't imported from a trendier postcode. the standing has been built slowly, in a place where people notice. if you're passing through ls27, or making the trip deliberately, the flat white is the obvious place to start.
