you're on weston grove, a residential street in upton that doesn't announce itself as a coffee destination. that's sort of the point. cafe number one sits in ch2 postcode territory, the kind of area where people actually live rather than visit, which means the people who come here are usually coming back. regulars don't build that kind of loyalty to a place they're indifferent about. chester's city centre has its share of options, but upton has this, and for a lot of people that's the calculation that matters. if you're making the trip out from the centre, or you already know weston grove, go in the morning when the day still feels open and order whatever's on the espresso menu.
