crawley's coffee scene doesn't get talked about much outside of west sussex, but that's changing, quietly and without any grand announcement. cafe santa maria on broadfield place is part of why. the area around rh11 doesn't scream destination, which is probably why the people who find this place tend to stay loyal. you're not walking past it on your way somewhere more obvious. the regulars here are genuinely attached, the kind of attached that builds slowly from consistent, considered work rather than novelty. independent specialty coffee in a town like crawley lives or dies on that consistency, and santa maria seems to have figured that out. if you're in broadfield on a weekday morning, the flat white is a reasonable place to start.
