the espresso here has built a following for good reason. saltcoats isn't a place people typically associate with specialty coffee, but cafe @ the station on vernon street quietly changes that assumption. you don't have to take anyone's word for it, either, because the locals already have, repeatedly. the crowd that returns here isn't doing it out of habit alone. there's something consistent happening, something that holds up visit after visit, which is rarer than it sounds in a small coastal town. if you're passing through ka21 or making a deliberate stop off the a78, this is the kind of place worth factoring into your timing. the coffee on a slow morning is a decent reason to arrive a little early.
