when you want something sweet alongside a properly made coffee, nihonbashimuromachi is a quieter corridor than you'd expect for central tokyo, and コレド室町 puts you right in the middle of it without the scramble of shibuya or shinjuku. カヌレドキャンティ sits on the second floor of that complex, pairing specialty coffee with canelé, which is a combination that makes more sense than it sounds. the bordeaux pastry has enough bitterness in its caramelized crust to hold up against a good espresso, and this place seems to understand that. locally well regarded, which in nihonbashi means people come back deliberately. a slow weekday afternoon here, coffee in one hand, canelé in the other, is about as considered a break as this part of chuo city offers.
