bogotá has quietly become one of latin america's most interesting cities for coffee, which makes sense given that colombia grows some of the continent's most sought-after beans. the specialty scene here has spread well beyond the usual usaquén and chapinero haunts, and carulla rincón de la colina, out in suba along cra. 59 near 152b-97, is a decent example of that reach. locals in this part of the city clearly have a place they return to, and that kind of neighborhood loyalty doesn't accumulate by accident. if you're moving through the northern end of bogotá and want something that's held to a higher standard than the average corner tinto, this is a reasonable stop to have on your list. worth arriving in the morning, when the day is still unhurried.
