rugby doesn't have the density of coffee shops you'd find in birmingham or coventry, which means the places that do exist here carry more weight. chicco di caffe on bank street is one of those places that locals have clearly decided is worth returning to, repeatedly. the address puts you right in the centre of town, close enough to the market area that it fits naturally into how people move through rugby on a weekday. what you get here is a shop that takes the coffee seriously without performing that seriousness at you. the standing it holds among regulars didn't accumulate by accident, it held because people kept coming back. if you're passing through bank street in the morning, the flat white is a reasonable place to start.
