a slow weekend afternoon, the kind where you don't have a plan and don't need one, is probably where cj's coffee house & tearoom on warrington road in penketh makes the most sense. it's on the quieter side of warrington, away from the town centre buzz, which is part of the point. the regulars here are clearly attached to the place, and that kind of loyalty tends to come from consistency rather than novelty. tea gets equal billing with coffee, which isn't the norm in most specialty spots, and that breadth of focus shapes the whole feel of a visit. somewhere you go to actually sit, not just collect a drink. penketh on a saturday morning, something warm in hand, no particular reason to move.
