the flat white here has built a quietly serious reputation among people who drink a lot of coffee and don't say so lightly. salford doesn't always get the credit it deserves for its food and drink scene, but richmond street and the blackfriars road stretch have been quietly changing that, and coffee's cafe sits right in the middle of that shift. you get the sense that the people who come here regularly aren't looking for novelty, they're looking for consistency, and that's a harder thing to deliver than it sounds. the place is very strongly regarded by the people who know it best, which in specialty coffee circles tends to mean something. if you're in the area on a weekday morning, the flat white is where to start.
