a slow morning in canggu can go sideways fast, tourist traffic on jl. nelayan already building before nine, the kind of street that rewards knowing where to turn off. doppio cafe, at number 25a, is one of those turns. it's small, it's local in the way that actually matters, and it's built for the kind of visit where you need your coffee to be taken seriously without the whole thing becoming an event. you're not here to be impressed by the performance of specialty coffee. you're here because the coffee itself is good, and the neighborhood regulars who keep coming back to this stretch of kuta utara seem to agree. order a cortado and stay for a second one.
