dunn brothers takes coffee sourcing seriously, which matters more than it sounds. a lot of places stop at "local and independent" as a selling point, but if the beans aren't good going in, none of the rest of it counts. what keeps dunn brothers well regarded in fargo isn't goodwill, it's consistency. you can count on that out on timber pkwy south, which sits far enough from downtown that people don't wander in by accident. they come because they mean to. the south fargo stretch isn't a coffee destination by default, so places that hold a loyal crowd there have actually done something to earn it. end your morning there with a straight espresso and see what the fuss is about.
