union, south carolina isn't a town you pass through on your way to a specialty coffee scene. it mostly is the scene, or at least it was until places like elle bell cafe started changing what that meant. sitting on west main street, it's become the kind of place locals return to with the loyalty you only build through consistency, not novelty. the regulars here aren't casual about it. that kind of standing, the sort where people feel genuinely possessive about a spot, doesn't come from convenience alone. something is getting done right, repeatedly. if you find yourself on w main st on a weekday morning, the coffee is a good reason to stop before anything else on your list.
