the tea here deserves more attention than it usually gets. el&n sits on great marlborough st, just off carnaby, which puts you in the middle of one of london's busiest retail corridors, and yet the small-plates menu and the vegetarian options give you an actual reason to slow down rather than grab and go. if you're coming solo, this is a genuinely comfortable stop, the kind of place where a single seat doesn't feel like an afterthought. the specialty coffee is the headline, but don't overlook what's on the tea list. order something from it alongside a small plate and you've got a proper midday pause rather than a hurried caffeine fix. great marlborough st at lunchtime, tea in hand, is a better plan than it sounds.
