Estratto coffee

some mornings, west pender is all business: suits, construction noise, the financial district humming at full speed before 9am. estratto sits right in the middle of that, at 336 w pender, and doesn't try to slow any of it down. you can come in with a laptop and a deadline and feel completely at ease, or not. the regulars clearly keep coming back, which means something quieter than any rating can say. this isn't a place that performs specialty coffee for you. it just makes it, and makes it well. the cortado is a reasonable place to start if you're new, but honestly, whenever west pender has you moving fast, this is the stop worth building the block into.
