good coffee on 7th avenue south is harder to find than it should be, which makes fellini coffee feel like something you can actually rely on. the west village has no shortage of places to sit with a laptop and pretend to work, but a spot that holds up over repeat visits is a different thing entirely. fellini does that. locals have been coming back long enough that it carries a quiet confidence, not the kind that announces itself, but the kind you notice after the fact. if you're cutting through from christopher street or heading toward the hudson, it's worth stopping rather than saving for later. the afternoon espresso is reason enough.
