
you're on the road into arrochar, the loch sitting low to your left and the arrochar alps pulling the eye upward, and forest holidays ardgartan is where this stretch of argyll suddenly gets a lot more appealing. it's not the kind of place you stumble on mid-commute. you come here with purpose, or you come because someone told you to, and either way the people who know it tend to keep coming back. lochgilphead and this whole corridor of argyll has a quietness that suits a proper coffee stop, no rush implied, no ambient pressure to move along. the locals who have made this a regular thing clearly feel that too. worth timing your visit for a slow morning, when the g83 road is still unhurried.
