gigi's cupcakes holds its own as a specialty coffee stop on abercorn street, which is one of savannah's longer commercial corridors and not a place where you expect to find something worth slowing down for. but here it is. the coffee program is taken seriously enough that locals keep coming back, which in a city that has plenty of decent options says more than any tagline could. you don't have to be deep in the historic district to find good coffee in savannah, and gigi's is part of why that's true. suite 100 puts it in a strip that's accessible rather than precious, everyday rather than curated. a solid afternoon stop when you're moving through the southside.
