good coffee in laredo takes some looking. gloria's coffee bar on golondrina drive, out in the 78045 zip, has built the kind of following that doesn't need explaining. people come back. that's the whole story. if you're anywhere near the northwest side of the city, it's worth knowing this place exists, because specialty coffee this far from the coasts can feel like a long shot, and gloria's isn't. the regulars here aren't casual about it, which says more than any summary could. laredo runs hot and long-dayed, so an afternoon coffee stop that actually delivers is something people hold onto. golondrina drive in the late afternoon, a proper espresso in hand, is a reasonable argument for slowing down.
