shawlands doesn't get the same foot traffic as the west end, but that's partly why godshot works. pollokshaws road is a long, lived-in stretch of south glasgow, and at 1143 you'll find a shop that the neighbourhood has clearly claimed as its own. the kind of place where the coffee is taken seriously without it feeling like a performance. independents in glasgow can go either way, either they coast on goodwill or they actually put in the work, and godshot sits firmly in the second camp, with a following that's built up through consistency rather than noise. if you're coming from further afield, the cross-city train to shawlands makes it entirely worth the trip. get there for a flat white on a slow weekday morning.
