seattle takes its coffee seriously, and that's not a recent development. the city has been building a specialty scene for decades, long before third-wave became a marketing term. good voyage, sitting on 14th avenue south in the georgetown and south beacon hill corridor, is part of that fabric in a quieter, less-publicized way. you don't end up there by accident, which is probably the point. regulars have claimed it with the kind of loyalty that takes time to build, and that says more than most promotional copy ever could. the neighborhood itself is working seattle, not the postcard version, and a coffee shop that holds its own there is doing something right. if you're in that part of the city, the morning hours are your best argument for going.
