you're on rue du charolais, deep in the 12th, which is the kind of arrondissement that doesn't bother performing for tourists. ground control sits at number 81, and the locals who've made it a regular stop know what they're doing. the 12th has been quietly pulling interesting independent businesses for years now, away from the more photographed parts of the city, and a well-regarded specialty coffee shop fits that pattern. if you're coming from gare de lyon or cutting through from the viaduc des arts, this is a reasonable detour that turns into the actual point of the afternoon. go for the filter coffee if it's on, and take your time with it.
