out on savannah highway, past the sprawl of west ashley where the city starts loosening its collar, there's a coffee lounge that regulars treat less like a stop and more like a standing appointment. that kind of loyalty doesn't accumulate by accident, at least not around here. you could chalk it up to consistency, or to the fact that a place like this, sitting at unit a on a stretch of road that isn't trying to be charming, has to earn every return visit on merit alone. no foot traffic from the tourist belt to prop it up. just coffee, done well, and people who've figured out that the drive down 17 is worth it. start with whatever's pulling espresso that week.
