glasgow has developed a genuine specialty coffee scene over the last decade, one that doesn't owe much to london or edinburgh and increasingly sets its own terms. gudea coffee house on st george's road, in the g3 stretch between charing cross and woodlands, sits right in the middle of that shift. the people who drink here regularly clearly feel something about it, and that kind of loyalty in a city with no shortage of options isn't something you stumble into. you don't keep coming back to a place unless it's doing something consistently right. the coffee is the point, full stop. if you're in that part of the west end and you want a flat white that someone actually cares about getting correct, st george's road is where you're headed.
