the pastries here are the reason people keep coming back to south wickham road, and that's not a small thing in a strip where most stops are purely functional. west melbourne doesn't get a lot of specialty coffee attention, which makes a place like this feel like a find if you happen onto it. the regulars clearly figured that out a while ago, and the loyalty runs deep enough that you notice it. nothing about this spot tries to overexplain itself. it's a bakery and cafe that takes both halves of that description seriously, which is rarer than it should be. if you're heading down to the 32904 end of town, build in time to sit with a pastry rather than grabbing it on the way out.
