the kitchen brunch is a solid reason to show up hungry, and probably the thing most people who know this place return for. hidden gem kitchen sits on high street in kegworth, a small market town in north-west leicestershire that doesn't get much coffee attention from the outside world, which means the regulars here have largely kept it to themselves. that kind of quiet loyalty tends to mean something. you get the sense that people aren't stopping in out of convenience but because they've tried it, liked it, and came back. the coffee is taken seriously enough to hold its own alongside the food offer, which is saying something when the food is clearly the draw for a lot of people. worth arriving before the lunch crowd thins the menu out.
