out on adbolton lane, well past the point where the city thins out toward the trent valley, you wouldn't normally expect to find specialty coffee worth rerouting for. but holme pierrepont country park pulls a certain kind of visitor, people coming for the national water sports centre, or just to walk the water's edge, and the coffee here has built a quiet, genuine reputation among them. nothing about the location suggests convenience, which probably explains why the quality matters more, not less. if you're heading out this way on a weekend morning, factor in the time to stop properly. a flat white before a day on the water is not a small thing.
