peterborough's specialty coffee scene is smaller than you might expect for a city its size, which means the places that do it well tend to build a loyal following fast. jinja on high street in the pe2 part of town has done exactly that. the regulars here aren't casual about it, either, the kind of crowd that comes back not out of habit but because the bar has been set and keeps getting met. if you're passing through peterborough or based there and haven't made it to 52 high street yet, that's worth correcting sooner than later. a mid-morning flat white on a weekday, when the city is still settling into itself, is a reasonable place to start.
