the flat white here is the kind of thing you plan a walk around. hafnarstræti 11 puts you close to the harbour and the older commercial spine of reykjavik, which means you're probably already cold and already glad for somewhere that takes the coffee seriously. kaffi ó-le has built the kind of following that doesn't need much explaining, regulars who come back not out of habit but because the standard holds. the espresso-based drinks are the reason to visit, not the novelty of being in iceland. if you're arriving mid-morning, let the flat white do what it's supposed to do and sit with it long enough to actually finish it before you move on to the next thing.
