kataluma chai takes chai seriously. not as a menu afterthought or a syrup-pump placeholder between espresso drinks, but as the actual point. that alone is enough to make it worth finding on west colfax, a stretch of road that doesn't exactly reward patience but has always had a way of hiding the places that matter. if you're driving out toward lakewood and you've been burned by chai that tastes like hot candy water, this is the detour. suite 551a in the shopping center off the 14500 block puts it a little off the obvious path, which probably suits the regulars just fine. come mid-morning, when the chai has time to be the reason you stopped.
