paris has gotten serious about coffee. the city that once treated espresso as an afterthought has spent the last decade building a real specialty scene, and avenue de wagram sits right in the middle of a neighbourhood that rewards the curious. le paradis du fruit at number 32 is one of those places that locals seem to keep quietly to themselves, which is usually a decent sign. you won't stumble across it hunting for a tourist landmark, but if you're already on wagram for any reason, it pulls you in. the standing it holds in this corner of the 8th arrondissement isn't loud about itself. worth making time for a mid-morning flat white before the avenue gets busy.
