you're on benjamin road, which isn't the part of high wycombe that anyone puts on a postcard, and that's probably fine. the café sits at number six, doing what a good independent does without announcing it too loudly. little peep cafe and play draws a crowd that clearly comes back, and the standing here reflects a place that has figured out what it's for and kept doing it. you get specialty coffee in a part of town that could easily have settled for less. high wycombe has its chain options, its retail-park defaults, its good-enough. this isn't that. whatever your order is, benjamin road is a reasonable detour to make for it.
