you're on north main street, mcallen, and the addresses out here run long, the kind of commercial stretch where you have to know what you're looking for. magnolia coffee bar sits inside suite 500 at 800 n main, and regulars have clearly figured it out, because the place holds a following that most independent cafes in south texas spend years trying to build. specialty coffee in the rio grande valley has its own pace, its own heat, its own relationship with the afternoon, and a shop that takes it seriously fills a real gap. if you're coming from downtown mcallen or cutting across from 10th street, this is worth the specific turn off main. start with whatever's cold. the valley earns that.
