minehead doesn't have much of a specialty coffee scene to speak of, which makes what's happening on mart road worth paying attention to. minehead eye has built a reputation that its regulars clearly feel strongly about, and that kind of loyalty in a small somerset town doesn't come from being adequate. you're not walking into a place that's coasting on limited local competition. the standards here are taken seriously, the coffee is treated as the main event rather than an afterthought to cake and wifi, and the whole thing sits on a short, quiet street that most visitors to the seafront wouldn't think to turn down. if you're in town, mart road is the detour worth making before anything else on your list.
