specialty coffee in the financial district usually means a grab-and-go americano and not much else, but the cold brew at mobsquad café is worth slowing down for. the café sits at 150 9th avenue sw, right in the thick of calgary's downtown core, which puts it inside the kind of foot traffic that rewards a place for being quick and punishes it for being careless. mobsquad doesn't seem to be either. you get the sense that the menu here has been thought through rather than assembled, and the locally strong reputation backs that up without needing to shout about it. if you're cutting through the +15 on a tuesday and need something that holds up past the first sip, the cold brew is your clearest bet.
