a florist and a coffee bar sharing a roof on north bardstown road is either a very good idea or a very strange one, and mt. washington has apparently decided it's both. the town sits about twenty miles south of louisville, far enough that you're not just stopping in because it's convenient, which means the people coming through the door on bardstown road are mostly there on purpose. that kind of intentional foot traffic tends to keep a place honest. mt. washington florist & coffee bar has built a local following that holds up under scrutiny, not because it's chasing some specialty-coffee trend but because it keeps showing up for the neighborhood. worth the drive down from the city for an afternoon cup.
