the kind of place that makes ōizumigakuenchō worth the detour. nerima isn't the ward most people think of first when they're mapping out a coffee day in tokyo, but nericafe has been quietly doing its own thing out here in the residential quiet of this part of the city, roasting in-house and selling what they make. that combination, roasting and retail under one roof, means what ends up in your cup hasn't traveled far at all from whoever decided how it should taste. the reviews back that up in a way that's hard to fake at this scale. if you're coming from the seibu ikebukuro line, the walk through the neighborhood is low-key and genuinely pleasant. end with a bag of their house roast to take home.
