london's specialty coffee scene has more depth than most cities want to admit, and the corners where it genuinely concentrates tend to be quieter than you'd expect. notes coffee roasters & bar on angel court, tucked just off the bank area in ec2, is one of those places. the city crowd passes through here, but the shop holds its own against that pace rather than bending to it. if you're eating solo or working through a morning, the breakfast and small plates give you a reason to stay properly rather than grab and go. the tea program is taken as seriously as the coffee, which is rarer than it should be in a specialty context. end the morning with whatever's on filter.
