...which is why broad street keeps coming up when anyone in san luis obispo starts talking seriously about espresso. oki kohi espresso bar sits at the southern end of slo, on a stretch of broad that doesn't ask for your attention, and yet people keep finding their way back. the focus here is tight, espresso at the center of everything, which means you're not wading through a bloated menu trying to figure out what this place actually does well. it does. regulars tend to be loyal in a way that says something about consistency rather than novelty. if you're coming from downtown, the drive down broad takes maybe four minutes, and the espresso is worth both the trip and the parking. midmorning, when the city is still deciding what kind of day it's having, is probably the right time to show up.
