old house cafe rengetsu takes both tea and coffee seriously, which is rarer than it sounds. most places that straddle the two end up doing neither particularly well, but the ikegami address in ota city gives you a sense of the pace here: this isn't a high-foot-traffic corridor, and the cafe doesn't behave like one either. specialty coffee sits alongside notable tea, small plates, and a brunch offering that makes it genuinely useful for a solo visit with no agenda. you don't need a group, a plan, or a reason beyond a free morning. the neighborhood on the southern fringe of tokyo moves at its own speed. start with the tea before you order anything else.
