Pasticceria Royal dal 1989 - Caffetteria - Gelateria - Tarallificio - Cake Design - Torte Moderne

pasticceria royal does a lot of things, and it does all of them with apparent seriousness. that combination, pastry, gelato, taralli, cake design, espresso, is unusual enough to make you pause. most places that spread this wide end up mediocre at the center, but the local standing here suggests the coffee genuinely holds its own alongside everything else on offer. casavatore sits just north of naples, which means the espresso tradition is not decorative, it's the baseline expectation, and falling short of it would be noticed immediately by the people who stop in daily on viale guglielmo marconi. if you're passing through the area, the taralli alone are a reason to stop, but the caffetteria is the anchor that keeps people coming back between occasions.
