so when someone brings up mclean and asks where to get a decent breakfast, paul comes up more than you'd expect for a spot tucked inside international drive. it's the kind of place you'd walk past if you weren't looking for it, which is sort of the point. the bakery case does a lot of the talking here: French-leaning pastry alongside the usual espresso drinks, the kind of combination that makes a 9am stop feel less rushed than it should. you're not going to find a scene here, and that's fine. what you get instead is coffee that's treated as seriously as the croissants sitting next to it. mclean's got plenty of quick-grab options along international drive, but paul's the one where you sit down, order a coffee and something baked, and actually let the morning slow down a little before 2001 pulls you back into the day.
