specialty coffee and tea taken seriously in the same place is rarer than it should be. primrose cafe does both. sitting on boyce's avenue in clifton, one of bristol's more quietly confident corners, it draws the kind of crowd that actually wants to taste what's in the cup rather than photograph it. the vegan and vegetarian options mean you can eat properly without having to negotiate the menu, and if you're coming alone, the atmosphere handles that well too. clifton rewards slow mornings, and this is a reasonable place to have one. when you're deciding between the coffee and the tea, don't default to habit. the tea here is worth the deliberate choice.
